Monetization Features
Root for Artists offers multiple ways to monetize your content. All features use the same simple 5% platform fee structure:
Exclusive Music Sales
Sell your music directly to fans. You can offer individual tracks, full albums, or EPs with exclusive content that fans can't find anywhere else.
- Formats: Singles, Albums, EPs
- You set the price: Any amount in Naira (₦)
- You earn: 95% of the sale price
- Platform fee: 5%
- File support: MP3, WAV, FLAC formats
- Max size: 100MB per track
Example: If you sell a track for ₦1,000, you receive ₦950 and the platform fee is ₦50.
Exclusive Video Sales
Sell exclusive video content including music videos, behind-the-scenes footage, documentaries, vlogs, and more. You can offer permanent access or time-limited rentals.
- Content types: Music videos, behind-the-scenes, documentaries, vlogs, live performances
- You set the price: Any amount in Naira (₦)
- You earn: 95% of the sale price
- Platform fee: 5%
- Access options: Permanent or time-limited (you choose duration)
- File support: MP4, WebM, MOV formats
- Max size: 500MB per video
Example: If you sell a music video for ₦2,500, you receive ₦2,375 and the platform fee is ₦125.
Show Tickets
Sell tickets to your live shows, virtual concerts, listening parties, or exclusive events. Manage capacity, ticket codes, and fan check-ins all in one place.

- You set the price: Any amount in Naira (₦) or offer free tickets
- You earn: 95% of ticket sales
- Platform fee: 5% (on paid tickets only)
- Features: Ticket codes, capacity management, attendee lists, streaming links
- Access control: Public or password-protected events
Example: If you sell a ticket for ₦5,000, you receive ₦4,750 and the platform fee is ₦250.
Fan Tips & Artist Support
Let fans support you directly through customizable tip tiers. Create different support levels with optional perks to thank your most dedicated fans.
- Create custom tiers: Set your own amounts (e.g., "Buy me a coffee ₦500", "Studio session ₦5,000")
- Add perks: Offer shoutouts, early access, exclusive content, or personal thank-yous
- You earn: 95% of each tip
- Platform fee: 5%

How Payments Work

Getting Paid
To receive payouts from your sales, you need to:
- Complete your payment account setup in your dashboard
- Link a valid Nigerian bank account
- Verify your identity (as required by Paystack)
- Meet any minimum payout thresholds
Payouts are processed within 24 hours after transaction settlement. Payments made on weekends are processed on Monday.
Transaction Fees
The 5% platform fee is all-inclusive. There are no additional transaction fees, monthly charges, or hidden costs. What you see is what you get.

Tax Responsibility
Artists are responsible for reporting and paying any applicable taxes on their earnings. Root for Artists does not withhold taxes. We recommend consulting with a tax professional to understand your obligations.
Content Rights
You must own or have the rights to all content you sell on the platform. By uploading content, you confirm that you have the necessary rights and licenses. Root for Artists reserves the right to remove content that violates intellectual property rights.
